Ruby Lee Hardin Robertson

Waynesville-Ruby Lee Hardin Robertson, 76 went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 23, 2023. Ruby was born at Cherokee Hospital in Swain County on 9 February, 1947, to the late Willard and Fannie Ellis Hardin of Andrews, NC.

She enjoyed caring for children and spent nearly 20 years as a child care provider with Southwestern Child Development. She loved traveling, family game nights, going on Parkway picnics, and having good conversations about the Lord and the Bible with her family and friends. Ruby loved her family, and was very proud of their accomplishments. Most of all, Ruby wanted everyone to know Jesus; she was one of the most selfless individuals one could know on this Earth. In her youth, she was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church, Andrews, NC, and after moving to Waynesville, she joined Ninevah Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Sherrill. Ruby is survived by her siblings; Mary Smiley (Bill), Cecil Hardin (Sandy), Faye Phillips (Bill). Ruby was married to her loving husband of 54 years, Sherrill Herman Robertson of Waynesville, NC; children, James Grady Robertson, Steven Robertson (Sonia), Timothy Robertson, Susan Robertson Buchanan (Donnie); grandchildren, Eric Robertson (Faith), Brian Robertson, Kate Adams, Connor Buchanan, Ellis Buchanan; and great-grandchildren, Sarah Robertson and Gaia Robertson.

A Memorial Service celebrating Ruby's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 27, at Burnett Siding Baptist Church with Pastor Donnie Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends form 12-2 pm prior to the service at the church. The church's address is 7321 Lake Logan Road, Canton, NC.
