Ruth Jenkins Ramsey

Ruth Ramsey, 85, of Waynesville, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at The Homestead. Ruth was born in Haywood County on April 28, 1930, to the late Harley and Cora Reeves Jenkins. Ruth loved the simple things in life and had a strong faith in God. She enjoyed working in her garden and growing flowers. Ruth will be remembered most for her love of children and her joy of cooking. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Ramsey; a daughter, Flo Murray; and a son, Kenneth Ramsey. Ruth is survived by two sons, Ronnie (Margaret) and Randy (Ginny) Ramsey; a daughter, Cathy Setser (Ken Orlikowski); two sisters, Lucy Putnam and Sarah Cunningham; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 14, at Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Gary Putnam officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, August 13, at Garrett Funerals and Cremations.
