Franklin, NC - Walter Ray Jones, age 84, passed away at his residence on July 19, 2021. He was born in Hamilton, WV on March 22, 1937 to the late Ray Edgar Jones and Pauline Ruth Murphy.
Walter was a loving Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He served his country honorably in the US Army.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Elvira Jones; son, Jeffrey Ray Jones; brother, Edgar Allen Jones; and sister, Louise Arnold.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Deanna (Eddie) Downs and Walter Paul (Nanette) Jones; sister, Ruth Tacey; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, July 23, 2021 at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.
