Remembering you and Warren and the years of loving care you gave him.  Warren was the ultimate entertaining reconteur.   He could make crossing a busy street sound like WWIII.  He gave generously to others in many ways.  Blessings to you for your devotion and love for him.  Lee Smith

I had the honor of being an AA pilot intern for Captain Rauhofer in the mid 90's. As a young college student it was intimidating to be in an environment that I considered to be the "big leagues" but Warren made me immediately feel like I was part of the team. I was impressed with Warren's ability to earn everyone's respect, to lead by example and to be passionate about his job and coworkers. I was floored when Warren wanted to drive with me to go back to my college where I needed to make a presentation about my internship. Here I was, a young 20 something driving with the Miami Chief Pilot of American Airlines to my college where he would also give a presentation. The best part of it all was that he did it because he not only considered me a coworker but he considered me a friend. I was invited to his house for cookouts and spent time with him at the airport outside of work. I lost touch with Warren after a few years as I got entrenched in the industry as a commercial airline pilot myself, never forgetting the opportunities and memories afforded to me by Warren and the AA team. I was able to get in touch with Warren's wife last year and I was was floored once again to learn that Warren remembered me fondly and was still in possession of a photo that I had given him during my internship.

Warren was one of the BEST who married a sweet Flight Attendant named Abby.  Together we met up at “HighJackers” in Palm Coast FL for our monthly AAL get together.  We always shared stories, a joke or two and a nice lunch at the Flagler County Airport.  Warren and Abby were an ideal couple, and Abby my heart hurts with yours for your immense loss.  Warren was bigger than life and a friend to all.  Godspeed Warren and God Bless you Abby.   Carol Sharp Williams

Warren was a colleague at American Airlines, a good pilot, an interesting individual, and a fine man. He will be missed by many. 

Warren was a lot of things to a lot of people. Most important, to me he was a friend. Yes, he was my mentor, an inspiration, a professor, and advocate. But I think "friend" is the best way to think about him. Because it was the lense through which he looked at me. He looked at others as capable peers that just had not been afforded the same life circumstances to have what he had. 

I have so many fond memories, but one standing out the most right now was when Lisa and I were going through our adoption process. I was in North Dakota trying to prepare for anything at the permanent guardianship hearing. I was on the phone in Bismack with Warren and he emphatically stated: "You know Gerry, you are saving these kids lives." I had never thought of things that way. They needed parents, I wanted to be a dad, but the fact their lives were in jeopardy had not crossed my mind. But it was true. There are so many threats to orphaned children that I had not considered. Not even 10 years later, I'm leg deep in raising 3 teenage boys and a second grader! Warren had poignant way of putting things into perspective and these kids maynot have the best future, but they have opportunities and live a life in which to be proud . And Warren has been there with helpful suggestions and perspective whenever I asked. 

I will miss you dear friend.
