William "Bill" Newton Mauck

Waynesville-William “Bill” Newton Mauck, 91 died on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at his residence. Bill was born in Graham County on July 5, 1927, to the late Walter and Eva Rogers Mauck. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Geraldine “Jip” West Mauck; brother, Howard (Paul) Mauck; sisters, Ellovee Riddle (Paul) of Waynesville, Winona Whiteside (Jerry) of Greenville, SC, and Kathy Escobedo of Stuart, FL; and special niece, Valerie Holder (Joe) of Lenoir City, TN; very special nephews; a son, Terry; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Bill was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church and retired from Dayco after 23 years of faithful service.

Bill was a hard worker who enjoyed hunting, working in the garden, mowing, and he really loved cutting wood. Most of all he loved the Lord, and a close second was to eat a good meal, (especially Jip’s, Grace’s and Ann’s cooking).

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Hazel Williams and Loretta Moody. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, September 12, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Mike Leslie officiating. Pallbearers will be Denny Bryson, David Bryson, Chad Smiley, Seth Smiley, Roger Gentry, and Carroll Gentry. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 PM prior the service at the funeral home.
