Willie M. Mercer

Clyde-Willie M. Mercer, 77, died on November 18, 2014, at The Homestead. Willie was born in Haywood County on August 10, 1937, to the late William and Addie Matthis Mercer. Willie enjoyed working in the yard and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by a son, Troy Mercer; and two sisters. Willie is survived by his wife of 5 years, Dorothy; a daughter, Earlene Moore (Tommy); a brother, Tommy Mercer; grandchildren, Dalton Moore and Hannah Mercer; three stepchildren; six brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 21, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, November 20, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Garrett Funerals and Cremations.
