

Cherished daughter of the late Samuel Forder Burnet and the late Annie Marshall Burnet. Beloved wife for 53 years of the late William Morgan Ward Sr. Dear mother and mother-in-law of the late William Morgan Ward Jr (Marti), Anne Ward Sabbert (Rev. Donald), and Jane Ward Lindberg (the late Rev. Dennis); devoted grandmother of William Morgan Ward III (Shana), Jennifer Ward Kennedy (Brian), Andrew Ward (Nicole), Jeanne Sabbert Smith (James), Kimberly Sabbert Fleming (Stephen), Amy Sabbert O’Brien (Matthew), D. Scott Sabbert (Becky), Mark Lindberg (Julia), Laura Lindberg Reda (Albert), Luke Lindberg (Jill), and Jonathan Lindberg (Allison). Matriarch of the larger family, but “G-MA” to 18 adored great grandchildren: Maxine, Sydney and Morgan Ward; Annie Meroe and Matthew Kennedy; Zachary and Lydia Smith; Cameron and Jackson Fleming; Hannah and Spencer O’Brien; Ezekiel, Zane, Zoe, and Zoran Sabbert; Annika and Joren Lindberg; and Lillian Lindberg; dear cousin of Ruth Burnet Schroeder and the late John E. Marshall (Peggy); beloved aunt, relative, and friend.
Valedictorian of her Webster Groves High School Class of 1931, she received her B.A. in Mathematics from Washington University in 1935, where she was president of Pi Beta Phi. She joined Webster Groves Presbyterian Church in 1926, a lifelong commitment. Central to her life was her Christian faith, the nurturing of her family, driving until she was 92, love of all things Scottish, and a good cup of tea! She leaves a legacy of love and grace that will enrich many generations.
