Bill L. Curtis

Curtis, Bill L. of Manchester, MO. died on 7/18/16 at the age of 88. He was born on May 3, 1928 in Donegal, PA and grew up in Claysville, the son of Paul C. Curtis and Essie May Curtis, nee Westfall, who died at age 28. Bill was raised by his stepmother, Ida May Curtis, nee Westfall, from age 3.

Bill joined the Navy at age 17 and earned education benefits thru his service to his country. He graduated from Bradley U. in 1952. Bill was in HR management and ended his career as Corporate Mgr. of HR at Figgie Int’l. He retired in 1992.

Bill was an avid golfer, enjoyed bridge, casinos, collecting Christmas ornaments, doing volunteer work and spending time with friends and family.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Dolores; daughters Kathy Sindel and Tracey Schowalter, son William and sister Joan Clark. He has 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. More than anything, he loved his family and wanted to be known as a person who cared about life and was a responsible husband and parent.

SERVICE: Mem. Visitation, Sat., July 23, 2016 from 4 pm – 5 pm. at Gerber Chapel, 23 W. Lockwood Ave., Webster Groves, MO. Mem. speeches will take place at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s name may be sent to, HavenHouse, 12685 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63141.
