I know you will be missed.......my daughter Jackie Carter was one of Becky's best friends since school days.  I met Paddy only a few times, but she was always so nice.

Saying Goodbye

Another Mother to me and as dear as my own.
May it bring comfort to her family.

I lost my own mom about two and a half years ago.
Today, I lost my second mom; it's quite a blow.
You see, her daughter is my oldest, bestest, friend.
And growing up, I considered both a godsend.

Paddy had this way of making things simple.
She taught by example; her words never babble.
And I was riveted by her British accent.
Even a general comment seemed rather elegant.

In my head so many memories abound.
I wish I could share but my tongue seems bound
I don't know how to tell my friend how much
her mother meant to me; it was a lot and a bunch.

So how do you say good bye to a person like that?
The moment requires more that just chitchat.
Just like her daughter, she was something special.
Losing her, like my mother, makes me feel awful.

And how do I help my friend with this trauma?
One I know too well myself;somebody please, pass the salsa.
I guess I tell her one step at a time, you  move forward.
Eventually, one step at a time, your grief becomes colored.

Colored by memories both sweet and dear
Your heart and mind can eventually hear
The sweetest music her death left behind.
Because in your heart, your mom is enshrined.

You tell stories of her and laugh a bit.
And yes, sometimes Grief comes back to visit.
Some days you think, Oh, Mom would love this,
And you reach for the phone, but suddenly hiss.

Don't worry,  it's okay; it just means Mom already knows;
Because she lives on, in your heart and this poor prose.
And never forget there's me; a shoulder to cry on,
An ear to listen, and time to remind you of the days bygone.

Love to you and your family Paddy.  I'll watch over them now, as they watch over me.  (((HUGS))) Betsy.

Thank you so much Paddy for coming into my life. I feel so blessed to have met & known you. Who knew grooming Lucy, Jack & Bailey, would turn into being friends with you, Debbie & Becki. You were there through my pregnancy, at my baby shower & through the birth of my child. We are so saddened by your loss, but I know you're in a better place. Our love always, Samantha & Scarlett

She was beautiful inside and out.  Her and I sat on her big porch many of times and watched as Jeff Sr and boys mowed her yard.  After they were done, she would always say:  "Looks like Buckingham Place".  Loved her and she will be missed.  God bless you all.

A lovely lady with a gentle nature and a kind heart who loved children. Paddy will be very much missed by her family and friends. She made me very welcome when I visited her home in 2002.
