

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 4, at Holy Redeemer Church. Father Kenneth Brown of Holy Redeemer Catholic Parish will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, March 3, at Gerber Chapel, 23 W. Lockwood in Webster Groves. Burial will follow the funeral at Calvary Cemetery.
Leah Jane Clark was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on June 9, 1919. She graduated from University City High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Sweetbriar College. Her parents, W.L.M. and Leah (Snoddy) Clark, and her best friend and older brother, William A. Clark, preceded her in death.
Jane was married to Tom Hartrich, Sr., on December 13, 1941. They were married 22 years until his untimely death in 1963.
Jane enjoyed spending time with her extensive and loving family. She was also actively involved particularly at Immacolata Parish in Richmond Heights and at Holy Redeemer in Webster Groves. She loved gardening at her home and at the gardens of her children. She stayed active mentally and physically, participating regularly in an exercise class taught weekly by daughter Margaret.
Jane’s life was filled with fierce independence, love, generosity and kindness, particularly towards her many family members and close friends. Her deep Catholic faith was evident in her interactions with everyone.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Ann (the late Dan) Wollaeger, Mary Hartrich, Cathy Hartrich, Margaret (Dave) Hollabaugh, and sons, Tom (Mary Siniscal) and Dan (Phyllis Radovich) Hartrich, 24 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Tom, Jane was preceded in death by her loving son, Bill (Kathy Connolly) Hartrich.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Patrick Center, 800 N. Tucker Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63101, and to Visiting Nurses Association of Greater St. Louis (www.vnastl.com). Masses would also be greatly appreciated. The family of Jane Hartrich wishes to thank the staff at Our Lady of Life as well as her caregivers at St. Clare Health Center and at VNA of Greater St. Louis.
