Dear Abby:  
I was very sorry to hear about Ken's death. We worked together, sort of because we were sharing the Lehmann Building together when we first moved the herbarium over from the old Administration Building about 1974. Since the staff was rather small in those days I saw a lot of Ken.  I knew all who worked with him though in truth he did these prgrams mostly on his own.  I was very disturbed when they brought in supposedly more well trained people to take over Education and caused him to leave. Ken was also very helpful to me also when I dealt with him at Hummerts over the years, always recommending the best spray for my fruit tree pests. It was really nice to see a more mature Ken Peck than I knew but I could still recognize that wonderful smile. I regret I did not come down to visit you in you bed and breakfast. Pat and I always intended to but grandkid and other interruptions always interfered. You seem to have a wonderful family and it would be wonderful to get a picture of your whole family with Ken.  I would like to send you a recent photo of my family too if you could send me your email.

I studied budding and grafting from Ken Peck in 1959 at Shaw's Garden. Ken was, I would say about the best teacher I ever had. I kept contact and consulted with Ken for many years, he was the go to guy. Ken was as good as they come. He added to my life and I will always remember him.

I took my children to Mr. Peck's Shaw's Garden summer classes during the 1960's and I being the driver from the suburbs, stayed and took the class too and we met under the Paw-Paw trees. The children developed a love of flowers, trees , insects and birds, thanks to those classes.  Thanks to Mr Peck, their lives were greatly enriched and their life journeys have been more enjoyable.

My deepest sympathy to Kenneth's family. I was fortunate enough to work under Mr Peck as an assistant to the instructors at the Pitzman Nature Study Program. I was twelve years old, the pay wasn't great, but it was my first job and a tremendous experience. I will always remember his kindness, his patience and yes, his puns.

Ken was our neighbor and friend in Kimmswick for many years.  It was a blessing to know him. He will always be remembered by the residents in Kimmswick!

Mr. Peck was my instructor at the Garden's Pitzman Nature classes in the 1960's.  I'm sure my love of nature and interest in gardening are at least partly because of Mr. Peck.  He was an interesting and kind man.  It is apropos to see the picture of him in front of the chalk board. I've thought of him now and then over the years when I've walked thru Shaw's Garden.

To the Peck family, my deepest sympathy! To Abbt thank you for sharing your husband with us. To the family, please know your father\grandfather was love and admired by many. Ken thank you for your expertise, enjoy working with you for many years, thanks for answering so many of the tough questions, customers would ask.  Ken thank you for the wonderful time we had while traveling. Michael Wooten and family.

My younger brother, John, and I enjoyed his class at Shaw's garden back in the late fifties.  I plant a vegetable garden every summer.  Thank you, Mr. Peck.

Ken Peck was an active member of the Kimmswick Historical Society for many years. He served on the board of directors and as Vice President and President. His home was always for sharing the love of history and nature.

I was a volunteer and we worked together at the Botanical Garden. Ken was a good, caring man. He was never too busy to answer a question and he always knew the answer.  His knowledge and his kindness will live on in those he mentored.  Angie Menard

I regret to say that I wasn't ever fortunate enough to have met Mr. peck, but his daughter Grace is an amazing friend in my life and if she is any testament to his character, then he will be sorely missed.  Rest in peace Mr. Peck.
