

FINERTY, Logan George, 86, of Webster Groves died on Monday, June 13, 2011. Mr. Finerty was born in Keokuk, Iowa on October 4, 1924. He served as a weather forecaster in the Pacific theatre during WWII, and returned home after the war to complete his degree in Engineering at the University of Iowa. While on a trip home from school he became reacquainted with Maxine Leu and the two were married in 1947. Their’s was an exceptionally happy union, married 62 years until her passing in 2009. Mr. Finerty was employed by Ameren UE his entire career, and he leaves behind a large number of people who remember his gentle presence, upbeat view of life and passion for his family.
Mr. Finerty is survived by his daughter, Janice (Robert) Craig and his son, Steven (Linda) Finerty; is grandfather of Brent (Margit) Craig, Kristen Craig, Margot (Steven) Frank, Melanie (Gideon) MacKay, Logan W. Finerty and Melissa Finerty, great-grandfather of Alice Craig, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend of many.
SERVICES: The family will receive friends from 3pm until the time of service at 4pm Thursday, June 16, 2011at First Congregational Church of Webster Groves, 10 W. Lockwood Avenue. Interment private.
