

(nee Tiefenbrunn), age 97, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, died peacefully in Kokomo, IN., surrounded by her loving daughters, on Friday, April 17, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Karl F. Kirberg; loving mother of Kent (Pat), Leonard (Mary), Mary Ellen (Scott), Gary (Sherry), and Susan (Steve); sister of Vincent, Celeste, Bernice & Margaret (all deceased); grandmother of Jeffery, Scott, Tiffanie, Tammie, Dean, Jennie, Hollie, Jesse, Jeremiah, Samantha; great-grandmother of Jeffery David, Kristen, Montana, Mckell, Rylee, Payton, Parker, Korral, Matthew, Johnathan, Austin, Dillan, Ryker,Tyree, Shaylee, Zepha, Noah, Hudson, Kori & Samuel; mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and friend of many.
Lorraine was a lifelong resident of St. Louis and donated to countless charities in the spirit of Christian giving. She was past-president and a member of the Lionettes Auxiliary of the South Side Lions Club, Tuxedo Park Chapter AARP, 50+ Club of St. Elizabeth Church and Shrewsbury Wild Rose Garden Club. She loved her children, extended family, and her church above all else; also gardening, playing cards, candy bingo, the Muny Opera, theatre, and her friends. Her volunteer activities were many, starting in the school cafeteria of St. Elizabeth school, cub and girl scout leaders, Meals on Wheels, and tutoring students. She was a talented seamstress for her family and church, sewed costumes for the Lions Roar variety show and other projects. The family would like to thank her friends and staff at Bethesda Orchard for their many kindnesses. A special thank you to Debbie and Susan, her “angels” and to Tina, who faithfully brought her Holy Communion.
Visitation from 9-10 AM, followed by a Memorial Mass, on Saturday, May 30, St. Elizabeth Church, 1420 S. Sappington, Crestwood. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Feed My People or Catholic Mass remembrances are appreciated.
