Born January 6, 1921 to Clara and Henry Ruester. Adored wife of the late Robert E. Decker. Loving mother of Donna (Fred) Williamson, Antoinette “Toni” Decker and Christina (Larry) Chapman. Incredible role model to 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Sister of Audrey Jung and the late Kay McDowell and Cookie Johnston. Best friend to Marge Gable for 70 years.
Lived in St. Louis all her life with the added joy of her Rio Verde, Arizona and Innsbrook homes. Graduated from Roosevelt High School and earned her degree in elementary education from Washington University. She was president of her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta.
An avid golfer and always straight down the fairway, she spent many happy years at Westborough Country Club where she was president of the Ladies’ Golf Association. In the early 70s, she became president of St. Louis Women’s District Golf Association at the same time that her adored Bob was president of Men’s District Golf Association, a first time novelty for the associations.
She returned to Washington University to enjoy many classes and friends at the Lifelong Learning Institute. She volunteered with the Wise Write elementary school playwriting program. To the very end, she got up, got stylishly dressed and started her day with joyful greetings to the wonderful employees and friends at Provision Living in Webster Groves. Mimi was one awesome classic lady who could turn a light on in a room like no one else. We will miss her dearly, but know she is incredibly happy in her Bobby’s arms.
