Mrs. Valerie C. McAllister Beck

BECK, Valerie C. (nee McAllister), 73 of Kirkwood at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Beloved wife for 42 years of Daniel W. Beck; loving mother of Vicki (Todd ) Cross; dear grandmother of Monica, Lindsey, Rachael and Lydia; dear great-grandmother of Amelia; dear sister of Ona Mae, Shirley, Jack and the late Mike and Eileen; dear friend to many.

Valerie Beck was born to Emory and Clara McAllister in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 20, 1939. She grew up in Desoto, Missouri with her five siblings, Mike, Ona Mae, Eileen, Jack and Shirley. She was a cheerleader at DeSoto High School and graduated in 1957. She then moved to St. Louis and briefly worked for a Food Brokerage Company after the birth of her daughter Vicki Cross.

Along with being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Valerie was the ultimate caregiver and had been an active volunteer for hospice. She was indeed a people-person and she touched many people during her lifetime. She will be forever remembered for the wonderful and loving things she has done for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all of us, her church family here and at the Lake of the Ozarks.

SERVICES: Visitation 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, Gerber Chapel 23 W. Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves, Missouri 63119. Funeral service 10 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012, Concordia Lutheran Church, 505 S. Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122. Visitation at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment St. Trinity Cemetery.
