

Mr. Gill was a lifelong resident of Webster Groves, a 1936 graduate of Webster Groves High School, and a 1940 Graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in Business Administration.
He is survived by 2 children, Linda (Jerry) Medlock and Robert (Vicki) Gill; 7 grandchildren, Dana (Edelfo) Albillo, Tim (Tara) Medlock, Laura (Dean) Howren, Beth (Greg) Mathis, Dorsie (Ryan) Mullen, Maggie (Chris) Fanard, Jon (Christen) Gill, and 17 great grandchildren.
Bill spent 4 years as a Captain in the 175th Field Artillery which included 635 combat day’s in North Africa and Italy. During his service in Africa, Bill received a Bronze Star for his outstanding service. Following his military service Bill returned to St. Louis and he and Doris Davis were married on November 17, 1945, in North Springfield, Vermont. For the next 37 years he was an executive with ITT Blackburn Co. and it’s predecessors in a number of management positions. Following his retirement he worked with the American Association of Industrial Manufacturers (AAIM). Bill was a lifelong member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, the Lamplighters Society of the YMCA, he was an avid golfer and a member of Westborough Country Club for over 50 years. During those years Bill served as Secretary of the St. Louis Seniors Golf Association for 28 years. He and Doris were members of the Webster Groves Christian Church for 52 years, where he was an Elder Emeritus, then later a member of the Community Christian Church.
Bill nearly outlived all of his contemporaries and was lucky to have been in good health almost to the day of his death. He had a very full and active life and a loving family. What man could ask for more ? Thanks be to God, Amen.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 8, at the Webster Groves Christian Church with Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Gerber Chapel.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Community Christian Church or Circle of Concern.
