WELSH - Mrs. Agnes Baronette Arceneaux, 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in a Lake Charles hospital. She was a very special mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.
She is survived by her one son, Bob Arceneaux (Sheila) of Welsh; four daughters, Phyllis Dougay of Sulphur, Janis Painter (Barry) of Lake Charles, Patty LeBlanc (Carl) of Welsh, Laurie Pickle (Skip) of Kinder; 14 grandchildren, Jeremy Arceneaux, Courtney Arceneaux, Rusty Arceneaux, Vanessa (James) Davis, Jean (Kristi) Dougay, Amanda (Daniel) Crochet, Michelle Dougay, Barry Kane (Bryn) Painter, Kara Painter, Nieko Painter, Casey LaBlanc, Jordan Pickle, Austin Pickle, Grace Pickle and 12 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by one brother, L.J. Baronette of Shreveport and three sisters, Bernice Cox of Houston, TX, Mary Helpert of Robstown, TX, Laura Baronette of Welsh and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucien and Louise Baronette; husband, Neal Arceneaux; three sisters, Judy Davison, Annie Guidry and Mable Mayeaux.
She was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharist Minister and as a member of the Ladies Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas for over 60 years. She was also a participant in multiple rosary groups.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Father Herbert May will officiate. Burial will be in Bon Pasteur Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh from 2-9 p.m. Friday with Rosary at 7 p.m. that evening. Visitation will resume Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and continue until the time of service.
