Angela Fontenot

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Seven Dolars Catholic Church in Welsh. A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow immediately after Mass at Oaklawn Cemetery. Everyone is invited to her home after she is laid to rest to share memories and stories of her life with her family.

Angela was a graduate of Welsh High School. She enjoyed being outdoors, loved nature, and fishing. She had an incredible talent for gardening and had a green thumb that no one could match. She always said, “That’s not a weed, that’s just a flower out of place.” She also loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed teaching ministry at Women of the Well in New Orleans.

She is survived by her mother, Jo Ann Davis Fontenot; brother, Aaron Fontenot (Sarah); sisters, Estelle Fontenot (David), Aimee Cortez (Jimmy), Virginia Guise, and Felicia Nash (Jason); nieces and nephews, Keaton Fontenot (Nahshon), Andrew Fontenot, Slade Walker, Kage Fontenot, Mary Fontenot, Thersa Fontenot, Claire Fontenot, and Margaret Fontenot; great-niece, Audrey Watkins; sister-in-law, Malina Fontenot; along with her aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

Angela was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Fontenot, Jr.; and brothers, Hubert Fontenot, III, David Fontenot, Peter Fontenot, and Lyle Fontenot.
