Carolyn started school in Baton Rouge (too young to start in Jeff Davis). She graduated from Welsh High School in 1956 (tied for Valedictorian). She went to La Tech for one year, transferred to LSU, and graduated in lower elementary education in 1959. She later moved to Scott, LA and taught at Scott Elementary until 1961 when Kenneth graduated. They moved to Opelousas for several months, moved again to Golden, Colorado, then Redding, California, Welsh, Louisiana, Roanoke, Louisiana, Sulphur, Louisiana, and finally to welsh, Louisiana in 1970. When Welsh Equip. Co. was started she worked for a little while with her husband as Secretary. She was a substitute teacher in Calcasieu and Jeff Davis Parish.
Carolyn was involved as the Chairman of the Welsh Band Booster, and Cub Scout Den, leader of several card groups, First Lady of Deep South Equipment Dealers Association. She was baptized in the Methodist Church in Welsh and Joined the Presbyterian church in Welsh after her marriage to Frank Kenneth Daniel.
Carolyn was a wonderful caretaker for her mother after her stroke. She also devoted her time to the church to teach Sunday School and serve her church family.
In Carolyn's younger years she enjoyed fishing, boating, skiing, motor home traveling, hot air ballooning in Colorado, and traveling to all fifty states and twenty-one foreign countries.
Those left to cherish Carolyn's memorial are her beloved husband of 62 Years, Frank Kenneth Daniel; sons, Keith Daniel and wife Teresa of Welsh, LA, Craig Daniel of Lake Charles, LA; daughter, Janet Stelly and husband, David of Lafayette, LA; 12 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren; brother, John Howard and wife Beth of Framingham, MA.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lucille Payne Horn.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh from 11am-2pm. A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery at 2pm.
in lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Welsh or to the Alzheimer's Organization.
