Elizabeth "Liz" Marie Brooks

Elizabeth “Liz” Marie Brooks, 61, passed away on August 1, 2026. She was born on May 6, 1965, in Orange, Texas, to James Conner Sr. and Lou Ella Conner. She peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and treasured memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Liz was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved her daughters and grandchildren with all her heart and found happiness in every moment spent with them. Whether celebrating milestones, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other’s company, Liz made everyone around her feel loved and valued.

She had a vibrant personality and a joyful spirit. Liz enjoyed traveling and making memories wherever she went. She loved shopping, listening to all genres of music, playing BINGO, and spending time playing games on her phone. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures and had a smile that could brighten any room.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clifford Brooks Sr., and her father, James Conner Sr.

Liz is lovingly survived by her daughters, Rachel (Corey) Gary, Deidra (Eli) Alfred, and Danielle (DJ) Daigle; her stepchildren, Clifford Brooks Jr. and Tracy (Anthony) Guidry; her mother, Lou Ella Conner Chaisson; her sister, Tammy Foster; her brother, James (Tina) Conner; and her cherished grandchildren, Hunter, Kenzleigh, Paul, Connor, Landen, Darrell, Kaylee, and Aden. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Although our hearts are filled with sorrow, we take comfort in the countless memories Liz gave us and the unconditional love she shared so freely. Her beautiful spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.

The family will welcome the public for visitation at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh on August 7, 2026, from 3pm to 8pm with a rosary at 6pm.
