OBITUARY

Jeanette Andrus

August 21, 1937October 14, 2020

Theresa "Jeanette" Andrus, 83, was called home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

Jeanette was born August 21, 1937 in Church Point, LA, one of eight children born to Eunice and Noward Guidry Sr.. She was a lifelong resident of Southwest Louisiana, attending Welsh High School. She met her husband, Howard Andrus, while working at the Welsh Movie Theatre. On December 23, 1955 they entered into Holy Matrimony, making Hayes their lifelong home.

Together they welcomed three children; Carrie, Michael, and Aaron. As a devout member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, she was attended daily mass and was a faithful member of the Rosary group. As Jesus selflessly gave his life for us, she also selflessly gave her time to several charities close to her heart. Many years she was involved with the American Cancer Society and Cystic Fibrosis foundation, using her gift of gab to rally donations.

Second but no less important to her faith, was her family; she was ever present in their lives as a wife, & mother. Celebrating birthdays brought her much joy; each child, grandchild and great grandchild received their cake of choice, twenty-five dollars, her unconditional love and hugs.

Even in her retirement years, until she was 83 to be exact, she enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers, getting the grass cut to the perfect length on her tractor & conversing with her friends as they shared a cup of Community coffee.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband of 62 years; Howard; her parents; and siblings; Noward Guidry Jr., Aubrey Guidry, Lorena Reed and Albert Guidry.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Judy Morgan, & Bettie Guidry & her brother, Larry (Barbara) Guidry. Also her 3 children; Carrie Andrus, Michael (Kathy Manuel) Andrus, Aaron (Jill Guthrey) Andrus; her grandchildren, Cade Vaussine, Cassandra Kikendall, Kendra Rich, Rosanne Spears, Kamryn Andrus, Abigail Andrus, Zane Andrus, Sophie Andrus, and Grey Andrus; and seven great grandchildren.

The family will welcome friends on Friday, October 16, 2020 beginning at 10:30am at Hixson of Welsh until time of service. A Rosary will begin at 1pm and funeral services led by Father Jom Joseph will begin at 2pm. She will be laid to rest at Hayes Cemetery.

We invite you to sign her digital register book, share a fond memory or sentiment of condolences on our website at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com

Jeanette will always hold a special place in everyone’s heart who knew her ! Her smile was beautiful and she always laughed at herself ! My oldest son and Arron graduated together so from kindergarten on she would laugh about being the oldest mom at there school parties ! I admired her faith and missed seeing her and Howard when they were no longer able to attend mass ! A beautiful lady who is now celebrating a mass in the presence of God and her savior !

The first time I met Cassie's Maw and Paw I'd make comments and then high five her. She thought I was a strange duck for sure.
