Joseph Dallas Broussard

JD was born August 4, 1932 to Allison and Teola (Hoffpauir) Broussard in Kaplan, LA. He was a veteran who served his country in the United States Air Force. After the service he was a rice farmer. Most of his career he worked for the City of Welsh as the Chief of Police before retiring.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ella Mae Mott Broussard; one daughter, J’Deana B. Meche; one brother, Joseph B.”JB” Broussard; one sister, Mary Jane Pickle; three grandchildren, Jody M. Broussard, Joshua C. Daniel, and Amy K. Daniel; four great-grandchildren, Tanner, Bailey, Mason, and Mackenzie Daniel.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Darrell Broussard; one brother, Larry W. Broussard; one sister Myrtis B. McCowan; and one granddaughter, Lauren Daniel.

A Memorial service will be at 2:00pm Friday, May, 30, in First Baptist Church of Welsh. The Rev. Pat Deshotel will officiate. Visitation is from 4-9pm Thursday, May, 29 and resume Friday 10am-2pm at the church. Arrangements were made with Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh.
