

Lance Alvin Scott, 68, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, February 10, 2011.
Born in the Houston area on May 7, 1942, Lance made his home in Welsh, Louisiana where he loved the outdoors, fishing, and tennis. Lance worked as a Mud Engineer in the oil field for many years - a job he dearly loved.
Preceded into death by his parents Alvin & Olive Scott and first wife Mary Baker Scott. Survived by his wife Opal Hickman Scott, his sister Sheila Scott Durflinger and husband Don Durflinger of Mason, TX. Three daughters, Laurie Elizabeth Scott of Houston, TX, Lesley Scott Corban & husband John & children Caylee, John, & Connor of Prairieville, LA., Jennifer Leigh Scott of Baton Rouge, LA. Two sons, Granville Farquhar & wife Beth and children Grant, Kristin, Kaitlin, and Luke of Welsh LA. Randell Farquhar and wife Lisa of Lafayette, LA and children Bo & Hillary Ramagos and their children Mason and Sophie of Welsh LA.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh, LA. Visitation Sunday February 13, from 3 to 7pm. Funeral service Monday, February 14, at 11am. Burial to follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
