Lynda Gayle (Landry) Nelson

Lynda graduated from Welsh High School where she played basketball and softball. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was also a caring person to others. She enjoyed fishing, spending time on the beach, reading, all children, music, and watching wheel of fortune.

She was preceded in death by her partner, Lisa Davis, parents, Otis and Inez Landry, and a sister, Dolores Dugas.

Those left to cherish her memory are son, Baron Nelson and wife, Jeanna of Deer Park, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew (Nelson) Heitkamp and husband Austin Heitkamp and Melanie Nelson of Denton, Texas; brother, Otis Landry, Jr. of Lake Charles; a sister, Ophelia Owens and husband, Lee of St. Louis, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Hixson Funeral Chapel in Welsh, Louisiana. Burial will follow in Laccassine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
