Mary Jo Richard, 66, of Welsh, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 at her residence. Mary was born to her late parents, Jonathan and Dorothy McCown on February 5, 1955 in Welsh, LA.

She is survived by her sons, Jeromy Iguess, Eric Richard, and Jamie Langley, all of Welsh; three brothers, Chubby McCown (Susan) of Baton Rouge, Larry McCown (Cindy) of Moss Bluff, Bimbo McCown of Welsh; one sister, Sandy Myers of Welsh; grandchildren, Cade, Alec, Emma, Dane, Taylor, Wyatt, Aby, Cagle, and Marcus; and one great grandson, Briggs.

Mary Jo is preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Michael Richard; one brother, Bubby McCown; two sisters, Nitta McCown and Bonnie Vaughan.

A Celebration of Mary Jo's life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 1:00pm, with Deacon Wayne Chapman officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, beginning at 12:00pm.
