A devoted wife, mother & grandmother, she was born on October 20, 1948, to the late Joseph (JC) & Wanda Dearien. Myra spent the beginning of her childhood in her beloved Mountain View, Arkansas, before settling with her family in Sulphur, Louisiana. A 1966 graduate of Sulphur High School, she met her future husband Gerald (Jerry) while working cosmetology at K&B Drugs. Fiercely devoted to him and forever by his side, Myra played an integral role within the family pharmacy servicing her community until her retirement in 2017.
She will be remembered as a woman of strong Christian faith who held firm to her convictions and found peace & comfort in the Scriptures through her early morning devotions. Never to turn down anyone in need, Myra was a compassionate soul who unconditionally gave at every opportunity and pledged monthly to numerous charities & organizations close to her heart. Known for her impeccable memory and descriptive storytelling of days past, she treasured time with family & friends and will forever be dearly missed by all who knew & loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Andrea Broussard of Lake Charles & Ginger Osborn of Welsh, one son, Stuart (Rebekah) Osborn of Baton Rouge, four grandchildren, Ethan & Chloe Broussard and Henry & Maslyn Osborn, two brothers, Victor Dearien of Sulphur & David (Arlene) Dearien of Carlyss, one sister-in-law, Ginger (Joe) Carson of Edom, TX, her beloved Aunt Janice (Gary) Norman of Mountain View, Arkansas, as well as numerous loved nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
