Bell City -- Nedia Elizabeth Guidry, 85, departed this life, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 28, 2017 and was reunited with her husband of 55 years, Joseph D. Guidry. She was born to Darius and Edna Trahan of Kaplan, LA on December 27, 1931. She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 403 of Lake Arthur. She enjoyed being outdoors, attending church, spending time with her family and celebrating the Mardi Gras season. She enjoyed Cajun French music especially The Gravel Road and the group Les Ames. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Wayne Guidry of Bell City, three daughters; Barbara Walker of Sulphur, Patricia (David) Guidry of Bell City and Cathy (Carl) Bishop of Ragley; one sister and best friend, Lillian Racca of Crowley, 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; Joseph Guidry, brothers; Ophelias Trahan, Wilson Trahan, and Ovey Trahan, and sister; Zulmae Roy. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m., Monday, October 29 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Father John Payne will officiate. Burial will be in Lorraine Derouen Cemetery.
