Norman Lynne Fredericks

Norman was a long time resident of Welsh and a proud graduate of Welsh High School, Class of 1980. He was long time faithful member of New Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of Jennings. Norman served his community as a police officer with the Town of Welsh and was an active member of numerous local service organizations. For more than 20 years, he dedicated himself to mentoring youth as the Welsh Boy Scout Troop Master. He was known for his remarkable ability to fix just about anything he set his hands on. Norman will be remembered for his deep love of animals, especially dogs.

As a last act of service to his community, Norman gave the gift of life to others as an organ donor.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Brett Lawrence, Matthew Fredericks, Jacob Fredericks and Laura Fredericks Bryant and husband Kale; grandchildren, Amberlynn, Presley, Barrett and Percy; mother, Hatsuko Fredericks; brother, John Fredericks and wife Daisy; nieces and nephews, Heather Charpiat, Nicole Witt, Ian Fredericks and Catheryn Fredericks; and a host of loving family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Norman C. Fredericks and sister, Lumiko Hryzan.

The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, January 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to begin at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
