Ralph Edgar Reed

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Ralph was a diesel mechanic and serviced equipment for many farmers around the Jefferson Davis Parish area. He owned & operated Reed’s Country Café along with his wife of 60 years, Lorena. Ralph had a passion for training race horses and was honored to have won several important races.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Donnie Reed, Basile, Ralph Reed (Sheila), Jennings, and David Reed (Dana), Welsh; daughters, Dinah Miles (Marty), Iota and Linda Walker, Jennings; brothers, Dwight Reed, Ark. and Thelbert Reed, Georgia; sister; Wilma Lemonds of Ark; 16 grandchildren & 16 great-grandchildren. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Guidry Reed; parents, Arl Reed and Esther Chasteen Reed; brother, Harold Reed; & sister, Lola Wyatt.

The Memorial Visitation will commence at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Mausoleum. Words of comfort may be shared at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
