Ronald "Ronnie" Robicheaux, 82 of Welsh passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019.

He was born on July 29, 1937, the third child to Leo and Clemy Robicheaux, and was a lifelong resident of Welsh. His love in life was to cause side splitting laughter over a joke or story he was telling, as well as a few good pranks. In his off time he enjoyed fishing, mowing anyone's lawn on his trusty Snapper. If you caught him at home, it would be on his favorite couch watching westerns.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sybil; a son; Nathan (Kathy) Robicheaux Sr.; a sister, Leora Axe; three brothers, Cedric (Betty) Robicheaux, Terry (Ida Mae) Robicheaux, Ralen (Lorraine) Robicheaux all of Welsh, LA. 6 Grandchildren, Brandon "Duke" Robicheaux, Jennie Robicheaux, Melissa (Clinton) Bertrand, Nathan Robicheaux Jr., Jennifer Robicheaux, Kayloni (Mike) Jeane, and 8 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Wade "Bear" Robicheaux.

The family will welcome friends on Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 3pm to 9pm with a Rosary beginning at 6pm. Visitation will resume on Monday beginning at 8am. Funeral services will be led by Father Alan Trouille at Our Lady of Seven Dolors beginning at 11am. He will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Cemetery.

My heart goes out to the family. Pawpaw will be sorely missed. Since all of my grandparents are deceased, Jenn's had brought me in as one of their own and I've always felt their love and kindness. Her Pawpaw was a tremendous character and a born storyteller, and we got along so well. I'm really going to miss our visits and all of the laughs. Thankfully, I have jotted down some of his stories somewhere so the memory can live on. Here's to Pawpaw Ronnie "Robe" Robicheaux. He will always be loved and dearly missed. <3

One of the greatest grandfathers out there. He was the cajun embodiment of Foghorn Leghorn except funnier and more endearing.

All the angels in heaven must be rolling with laughter and buzzing with coffee, and when hes not cracking up the heavens he's no doubt mowing its lawn.

I have so many stories, so many prank memories I'd spend the rest of my life regailing.

One of my fondest memories is he was always trying to gross me out by telling me food was "armadillo" or "possum" and never once did I say no. I always ate it!

I'm going to miss him sorely, but I find peace in that he's with Dad now.

When I would spend the night at Mawmaw and Pawpaw's house (quite often), I would wake up in the morning and, without fail when I walked into the kitchen, Pawpaw would say "Goodmorning, Cher! You want an egg-in-a-hole?" It was ritual. I'm going to make an egg-in-a-hole for myself for breakfast tomorrow.

Pawpaw was the loudest, rowdiest, roughest, funniest, most sincere and caring person! When we spent time together, he would fill our time with vibrant, animated stories. I have too many memories to share! We would have prank wars, he got me lots of times but I think I got him once or twice! He made this little box one day, it looked like just a wooden, square piggy bank. He told me if I put a quarter in it, it would play music...he even gave me a quarter. Well, that box completely fell apart ("exploded") when I put the quarter in there. Oh he thought it was hilarious.

Although I did not know Ronald personally, I graduated with Ralen, his brother. I just wanted to express my sympathy to the family. May God be with you during this time.
