Thomas Larry Meyer

Thomas "Tommy" Larry Meyer, age 67, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Thomas was born July 7, 1953 to Matthew and Catherine Meyer.

Tommy was a native of Welsh and resident of Lake Charles. Tommy was a graduate of Welsh High School where he was a basketball standout. He enjoyed playing golf in his free time. Tommy absolutely loved visiting with his family and friends. He was a retired car salesman with over 30 years in the business.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jill Meyer Feverjean and husband Derrell of Moss Bluff; his son, Lane Meyer of AR.; two brothers, Steve Meyer and wife Sharon of Iowa and Michael Meyer of Welsh; his sister Johanna Cormier of Welsh; and his four grandchildren, Anna, Amanda, Maddie, and Joliee.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Meyer, Ray Meyer, Edwin Meyer, Louis Meyer, John Allen Meyer, Clyde Meyer, and Matthew Meyer; and a sister Jane Coble.

Visitation services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh on Monday, February 1, 2021 beginning at 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 9:00 am until the procession leaves for the church at 1:45 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Of Seven Dolors Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be immediately following at Oaklawn Cemetery. Rev. Alan Trouille will be officiating at the services. Pallbearers will be Blaine Broussard, Steve Meyer, Michael Meyer, Darrell Meyer, Buddy Cormier, Derrell Feverjean. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Guillot, Tony Cormier, Mark Jolie, and Randy Theriot.

My parents were close friends with Tommy's parents and Tommy was the baby. Since Roanoke school was small and Tommy excelled in basketball he was well known and liked. A good Roanoke Family, CONDOLENCES to the family.

I lost touch with Tommy some years back, but the short time i shared with him in the Burt days are some of my fondest. Truly a Southern Gentleman! His good nature and sense of humor was always something to look forward to.You will be missed Tommy! RIP

I met Tommy in Denver in 1991 ,we have stayed in touch over all these years .I considered Tommy my good friend .I reached out to several of our friends from Burt,and let them know of Tommy's passing .We are sad that we have lost another of our friends.Tommy was a good man ,with intregrity,and a big heart .He cared alot for his family and friends .We are going to miss our( Cajun Man) friend.May God be with you Tommy ,We Love You your friend Noby Gomez
