Wallace Joseph Labit

Welsh- Wallace J Labit, 79 passed away December 29,2019 in the comfort of his home with his family having given him the best care and being by his side.

Wallace also known to many as “J” or “Slim” was a butcher by trade and worked for Strohes Meat Company until he retired. He was a loving and caring

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Earline Labit of Welsh; son, Eric Labit ( wife Christina) of Lake Charles; two daughters, Tina Seiford ( husband Ronald) of Iowa, and Leslie Labit (Andre’ Colston) of Lake Charles; daughter-in-law, Gloria Labit of Missouri; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and1 great great grandchild. He is also survived by his 3 brothers, Eugene Labit and Rickey Labit of Henry, LA and Johnny Labit of Abbeville, LA;, 2 sisters,Betty Gaspard and Charlene Hebert of Abbeville, LA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilson Labit and Eve Meaux Labit; and son, Gerald Wayne Labit.

Visitation will be held 10 am - 6pm, Saturday, January 4, 2020 in Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. Cremation will be entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home. Words of comfort and memories may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com. The family extends an heartfelt Thank you and appreciation to Heart of Hospice for all the care and love.

My pawpaw! Always had a smile! And always hid the golden Easter egg in his pocket! Always had me a link of boudin any time we went to the slaughter house! I love you pawpaw and I miss you like crazy!!

Wallace was a classmate when we attended Henry High School. He was always kind and caring. He was also very quiet and shy! We hosted our Senior Party with Bar-B-Que and all the trimmings.
