Adelaida Hernandez, age 52, of Weslaco, Texas passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024 at her residence in Progreso. She was born to Gumaro Hernandez and Yolanda Flores on April 2, 1971 in Weslaco, Texas. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Claudia (Michael) Venegas and Alvaro (Caraima) Hernandez; grandchildren: Leonidas Anthony Venegas, Alexa Jade Venegas and Zaniah Luna Hernandez. She will also be greatly missed by her parents, Gumaro & Yolanda Hernandez and her sisters: Isabel (Damian) Olivar & Francisca (Mario) Sanchez. Adelaida enjoyed gardening, baking cooking, knitting and had a passion for reading and watching a good classic movie. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. The best part of her day was spending time with her grandchildren or "mis amores" as she would call them.
Family will receive friends Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 12 pm to 10 pm with a talk at 7 pm at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Funeral service will be held at 12 pm, Friday, March 15, 2024 at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Campacuas Cemetery in Mercedes.
