Antonia Ortiz

She is survived by her children: Esther Ortiz; Gilberto Ortiz (Irma Ortiz Vega); Lucy Ferrer Ortiz (Adolfo Ferrer); Sergio Antonio Ortiz (Maria Ortiz); Roberto Ortiz; and Sylvia (Shawn) Ortiz-Kennedy. She also leaves behind a large and loving legacy of grandchildren: Jesse Ortiz, Gilbert Ortiz, Nitza Avitia (Frank Avitia), Xochil Ortiz (David), Julio Miranda, Jasmine Ortiz, Geneva Ortiz, Armando Ortiz, Marina Ortiz, Angel Ortiz, Desiree Ortiz-Truong (Ronald Truong), Joel Ortiz, Kristal Ferrer, Adolph Sergio Ferrer (Patricia), Kristina Ferrer, Alex Ferrer (Andrea), Armando Ferrer, Johnathon Silva, Sergio Ortiz, Kevin Ortiz, Allen Ortiz, Evelyn Resendez (Efrain), D'Angelo Ortiz, Robert Ortiz, Mariah Ortiz, and Mikael Ira Reyes.

She was further blessed with great-grandchildren: Mariah Phillips, Isaiah, Aiden, Abby, Eli, Genevieve, Sebastian Ferrer, Naylaa Acuna, Ethan Acuna, Daija Avitia, Adrian Avitia, Isaak Avitia, Ezekiel Avitia, Israel Saldaña, along with many more grandchildren who brought her immense joy and her great great granddaughter Citlali Maria Ferrer.

Antonia is now reunited with her beloved husband Onesimo Ortiz, she is also preceded in death by her beloved son, Armando Ortiz; her grandson, Eduardo Miranda; and her parents, Antonio Salcido and Lucia Galindo.

Antonia was a loving mother grandmother, sister and friend. she touched many lives and taught her family to have faith in Christ. Antonia in her leisure time enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She was very creative with arts and crafts. She loved to make floral arrangements along with sewing. This she passed down to all her granddaughters. Antonia loves music she sang in sacred heart church parish choir for over 40 years. She loved to go shopping and out to eat with her children and grandchildren. Antonia was nurturing and truly and Earth Angel. She blessed many lives not just in her family, but in her community.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Highland, 6705 FM 88, Weslaco, TX 78599, on July 6, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco, TX 78599, on July 6, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for July 7, 2026, at 10:00 am At Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg, Texas, followed by Interment at Highland Memorial Park, 6705 FM 88, Weslaco, TX 78599, on July 7, 2026, at 11:00 am.
