Elvira M. Serna, 78, of La Villa, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on November 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 18, 1947, in La Villa, Texas, Elvira lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, and devotion to her family and community. Elvira was known for her boundless generosity and open heart. Her doors were always open to those in need — whether it was a warm meal, a place to rest, or simply a kind word. A gifted seamstress, she poured her love into every garment she made — from bridal gowns and quinceañera dresses to baptismal outfits and priestly garments for her church. Through her craft, she touched countless lives and became a beloved figure in her community.
She was preceded in death by her parents Inocencio and Ramona Mireles, her husband Rodolfo Lopo Serna, her beloved son Rene Conception Serna, her grandson Jose Guillermo Lopez III, her partner in life Santana Torres, and her siblings Martha Gonzalez, Sigifredo Mireles, Inocencio Mireles Jr., Maria Guadalupe Reyes, Alfredo Mireles, and San Juanita Mireles.
Elvira is survived by her children Faviola S. Stamper, Sonia S. Castillo, Rodolfo Serna, Rolando Serna, and Felix Serna; daughters-in-law Marissa Serna and wife of Felix, Marissa Serna; and son-in-law Agustin Castillo. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Arron Serna, Carlo A. Serna, Sonia
and Eric Galvez, Cristian Castillo Ramirez, Rolando Serna, Martin Galvez, Taylor Serna, Dakota Serna, Billy Ramirez, Kevin Ramirez, Lupito Ramirez, and Jovaughn Serna, who will always carry her love in their hearts. Elvira is further survived by her loving siblings Fidel Mireles, Carlos Mireles, Felicita Aleman, and Esperanza Ramos, who will forever treasure her memory and the unbreakable
family bond they shared. Elvira’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her devotion to the Catholic Church was reflected
in her tireless work crafting mats, vestments, and altar linens for Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, where she was a devoted member. Her strength, humility, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
