Emilio was born on June 13, 1949, in Donna, Texas, to Emilio Salinas and Eloisa Moreno. Throughout his life, Emilio had a warm and welcoming spirit. He was a very social person who never hesitated to acknowledge others. Whether he knew you well or simply crossed paths with you, he would always greet you with a friendly “hello.” He was eager to lend a helping hand in any way he could, and he had a special way of showing his love and affection to those around him.
Emilio found joy in the simple things that made each day special. He absolutely loved settling into his favorite recliner to watch Western movies and Wheel of Fortune. Many cherished memories were made sitting outside on his patio, enjoying a Bud Light, smoking his Marlboro cigarettes, and trying his luck with lottery scratch-off tickets. These quiet moments were a part of who Emilio was and will forever bring a smile to the hearts of those who knew him.
Emilio will be remembered for his genuine personality, his willingness to help others, and, most of all, for the radiant smile that could brighten any room. He had a way of bringing joy simply by being himself. Though his way of expressing love may have been uniquely his own, those who knew him understood the love that lived within his heart.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved daughters, Denise (Martin) Chavez, Erika (Rogelio Jr.) Pena, and Monique Salinas (Guillermo Jr.) Garcia; his grandchildren, Roy Anthony Pena, Cristal Pena, Martin Alexander Ortiz, Eric Matthew Peña, Ashlynn Monique Garcia Rosalinda Sarai Chavez and Samuel Levi Chavez; and his great-grandchildren, Royalty Monique Gonzales and Leandro Ismael Gonzales. He is also survived by his siblings, Rolando Salinas and Yolanda Vasquez, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed to know him.
Emilio now rests peacefully in the presence of the Lord and has been lovingly reunited in Heaven with those who went before him: his beloved parents, Emilio Salinas and Eloisa Moreno; his siblings, Adelina Salinas Serna, Noemi Salinas Llames, Ester Salinas; and his precious daughter, Jovanna Salinas.
Although his chair may now be empty, his smile, his laughter, his greetings, and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him. His life was a gift, and his memory will continue to bring comfort and joy to his family for generations to come.
May he rest peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord, until the day they meet again.
