Esmerejildo Venegas, 75, left to be with the Lord on February 6, 2023 at Angel Bright Hospice in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on November 4, 1947 to Marzimiliano Venegas and Lina Mascorro in Luxora, Arkansas. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Guadalupe Venegas; brother, Noe Sanchez, father, Marzimiliano Venegas and stepfather, Rafael Sanchez; who have preceded him in death.
From a young age, Esmerejildo was a migrant worker; he later came to dedicate many years to the Harlingen Irrigation District where he retired from. He loved watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys; had a love for fishing, arts and crafts, building model cars, traveling and visiting casinos . Mr. Venegas was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who had a strong love for his wife and family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving sons: Rene (Elizabeth Varela) Venegas of Little Elm, Texas and Rick (Yvonne) Venegas of Corpus Christi, Texas. He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Cristian, Sebastian, Lauren,Dean; siblings: David Sanchez, Nancy Sanchez and his mother, Lina Mascorro Sanchez. Family will receive friends Friday, February 10, 2023 from 3 pm to 8 pm with a rosary recited at 7 pm at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Funeral service will be held at 10 am, Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria del Angel Highland of Weslaco.
