

Feliciano Velasquez, 87, was called to his eternal resting place with God on Thursday, October 17th, 2024, at his home surrounded by a loving family. Feliciano was born on March 26th, 1937, to Feliciano Velasquez and Reyes Castellanos Velasquez.
Feliciano was raised Catholic and attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in Weslaco with his eight siblings. He worked for his parents as a truck driver when he was a young adult hauling fruit and vegetables up north with his older brothers Jesus and Gilberto in the early 50’s. In 1959 he married Adela Cardenas and enjoyed sixty five years of marriage, a lifelong commitment. Feliciano and Adela moved to Swartz Creek, Michigan where they settled and raised four children. Feliciano spent thirty years working for General Motors and retired in 1986. Shortly afterwards he and his wife moved back to the Rio Grande Valley where he enjoyed 38 years of retirement. Feliciano enjoyed landscaping, fixing his cars, repairing his home, watching Westerns, MLB, NFL (Dallas Cowboys) , Nascar, Kentucky Derby and Pay-Per-View (Boxing). He enjoyed long road trips, visiting family and sightseeing. Feliciano always lended a helping hand whenever someone was in need, and never gave up on those who lost their way.
Feliciano is preceded in death by his parents, Feliciano, and Reyes Velasquez, his wife Adela, son Antonio (Tony), sisters, Ester Ochoa, Lupita Alaniz, Jovita Nunez, brothers Jesus Velasquez, Gilberto Velasquez and Pedro Velasquez.
He is survived by his daughters Maria Magdalena Velasquez of Weslaco, Diana Quintanilla (Reynaldo) of Fairview, Tennessee, and Sulema Velasquez of Donna, sisters Delfina Velasquez of Weslaco, and Evangelina Wilches of Dallas, 6 grandchildren, Joe, Cordero, Felicia, Sofia, Carlo, and Jacob, 2 great-grandchildren Kathy and Isabella and numerous nieces and nephews.
