Condolences to Belinda Mata and family.  We will miss thy friend and neighbor 

We have so many memories of things he'd do to irritate us going up. Just to give you an idea, here are a few which some of you may be familiar with. When we were young, Jr. was the father figure in our house but he kinda took that role a bit too far. Seriously, he'd get after us for the length of our shorts, which really were not that short at all. Besides, it was the 70s, short shorts were a thing. He'd trick us into going to the store, Emilio's, barefoot, at high noon in sweltering heat, to see who could get there and back the fastest. Yeah, we fell for it. He'd wake us up in the mornings by taking our blankets off, even on cold days...this really made us mad.  Oh, but my fav was when my sisters would take off to school super early. He'd wait until they got to the corner then yell out asking them if they had a key to the school, and this made him LOL. Honestly, the one thing that I really didn't miss when I left home was Sunday football, you know! If you've ever lived with or been around him you know about the constant yelling at the TV when the Dallas Cowboys played. It was endless hours and hours of it, dating back to the days when Roger Staubach played. 

Jr., you were a good big brother, despite the shenanigans. Rest in peace. I'm sure we'll see each other again. Love you. 

My uncle was always looking out for everyone including us all the way in California. My memories of him definitely have to be him always expressing his opinions when we would visit 🙄 lol (15yr old me) he definitely would not hold back letting me know how he felt. As I got older I realized all he wanted was the best for me ❤  I am thankful to have had those moments with him.

My Big brother Gilbert, whom we called "Jr". He never wanted us to call him "Jr" around his friends, oops!  He sure will be missed in our family. He was always my protector as his second sibling.  Always watching out for me in things I get into to prevent from accidents occurring. I did not know I had it "good" with him around now he is gone and it feels lonely.  Now, it's only a memory to cherish in this life as long as God allows me to stay on this earth.
I love and will be missing my Big brother every day, until, we meet again in God's kingdom!

My tio was a great man, he loved his family and was a great example for all. You will be missed. Many hugs to Tia Belinda and cousins.

My deepest condolences to you Belinda, son, daughters and grandson! I worked with Gilbert at the Workforce Office in Harlingen.  I considered him a friend and we kept in contact even after his retirement.  He was very proud of his family, especially his grandson and always showing me photos of him!  My prayers to you all!  I will pray the Rosary for Gilbert's soul!  Be Blessed!
