Guadalupe Moreno, age 54, of Mercedes, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Weslaco and raised in Donna, Guadalupe was a proud Valley native whose heart was as big as Texas itself.
A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, loyal son, and cherished godfather, Guadalupe lived a life defined by faith, family, and service. His deep love for his wife, Monica, was evident in every aspect of their life together. He was an awesome husband who showered her with affection, support, and unwavering devotion. Their bond was one built on love, laughter, and shared dreams—a relationship that radiated warmth and joy. Monica's heart was his, and he was hers, a love story that transcended time and space.
Guadalupe was the kind of man who made everyone feel seen and valued—whether you were sharing a meal he grilled with love, enjoying a football game by his side, or simply receiving one of his legendary bear hugs. His love for his family was unparalleled. His commitment to his wife was the cornerstone of his life, and he lived every day with the kind of love and respect that was truly inspiring.
A lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Guadalupe cheered with unmatched passion each season. But even greater than his love for football was his devotion to his family. He never missed an opportunity to host a barbecue, where laughter and good food brought everyone together. His sense of humor could light up a room, and his warmth and kindness made everyone feel like family.
Guadalupe was deeply rooted in faith and lived his life as a man of principle and love. He was known for being proactive and always there when you needed him—a rock for his family, especially to his beloved mother, San Juanita, with whom he shared a unique and tender bond. A true “mama’s boy” in the most endearing sense, Guadalupe never missed a chance to express his love and gratitude to her.
He shared a special closeness with his sister Yvonne and remained tightly knit with all his siblings and extended family. As a father, he was endlessly supportive, proud, and present for his children, Lexy Viann Dominguez and Damian Moreno. His role as a grandfather to Evan James Moreno and Lydia K. Moreno brought him immense joy, and he embraced every moment with them wholeheartedly.
Guadalupe was also a beloved godfather to Anastacia Jae Cortez and Anthony Jay Cortez, who held a special place in his heart, as did all of his nieces and nephews. He loved them deeply, and his impact on their lives will be felt for years to come.
Guadalupe was a hardworking truck driver, finding pride and freedom on the open road. His work ethic, loyalty, and dedication were unmatched. His journeys may have taken him far, but his heart was always close to home—filled with thoughts of his loved ones.
He is survived by his loving wife, Monica Dominguez; children: Lexy Viann Dominguez and Damian Moreno; mother, San Juanita Moreno; grandchildren: Evan James Moreno and Lydia K. Moreno; and siblings: Yvonne M. Gonzalez, Joanne (Rodney) Moore, Laura (Amadeus) Saenz, James Hinojosa & Pablo (Cindy) Moreno. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews who adored him: Jassel (Mark) Martinez, David Gonzalez, Isaac Moreno, Eddie (Briana) Torres, Ethan Moreno, Drucilla Robinson, James Robinson and Deiondre Robinson.
Guadalupe was preceded in death by his father, Pablo Moreno Sr., whom he now joins in eternal rest.
His memory will live on in the stories shared at the family table, the echo of laughter at backyard gatherings, and the love he instilled in every life he touched. He was truly one of a kind, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled—but his legacy of love, humor, and devotion will endure forever.
