Hilda was born on August 26, 1950. She lived a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to her family. She was a faithful woman who began each day in prayer and found comfort and guidance in reading her Bible. Her quiet strength and unwavering faith were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Hilda had a special gift for bringing warmth and joy to others. She loved crocheting, especially during the winter months, making hats for her family so that each person could feel her love in every stitch. Even on days when she was not feeling well, Hilda always found a way to make others laugh. Her sense of humor and kind spirit brightened the lives of those around her.
Family was the center of Hilda’s world. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her home was always filled with love, laughter, and care.
She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Antonio Zapata; her children, Yolanda Zapata Humphreys, Juan Antonio Zapata, Sylvia Suarez, Nancy Robles, Sonia Zapata, Cesar Zapata, Diana Sanchez, and Laura Reyna; her 29 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Manuel Mata.
Hilda was preceded in death by her beloved son, David Zapata, and by her siblings, Jesús Galindo and Rosa María Galindo.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, March 20, 2026, a church visitation and service will be held at Ebenezer Worship Center, 209 Sugar Cane Dr, Weslaco, TX 78596, at 9:00 AM with a burial to follow at 2PM at Highland Memorial Park.
Although her family deeply mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing that Hilda’s faith has led her to her eternal home. Her love, laughter, prayers, and the warmth she shared so generously will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
