It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Isabel Cano, who was called home to be with the Lord on September 29, 2025, at her residence in Edcouch, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 24, 1943, Isabel lived a life full of faith, joy, and unwavering devotion to her family. She had a heart that overflowed with warmth and a spirit that touched everyone she met. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her love always abundant.
Isabel had a passion for cooking, often bringing her family together with her delicious meals and eagerness to try new recipes. She had a green thumb, finding peace and beauty in gardening, especially among her beloved sunflowers. Her hands were rarely idle—whether she was working on a puzzle, playing bingo, crocheting something special, or navigating her tablet to check in with loved ones on Facebook.
She found great joy in traveling, exploring new places, and collecting memories with those she cherished most. Sundays were sacred, spent in worship and church gatherings, where her faith shone bright. Some of her happiest moments were shared during family gatherings, surrounded by laughter, love, and the comforting sounds of her grandchildren, especially when watching La Rosa de Guadalupe together.
Isabel was the heart of her family—a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her beloved husband of many years, Jose Luis Cano, and her eleven loving children: Jose Luis (Nora) Cano, Leobardo (Esmeralda) Cano, Marco Antonio (Martha) Cano, Rosa I. (Rafael) Lopez, Maria I. (Raul Trevino) Cano, Olga L. (Jorge) Martinez, Jesus Delfino (Angelita) Cano, Josue (Norma) Cano, Esther (George Love) Cano, Daniel (Ana) Cano and Ruth (Humberto Palacios) Cano.
Her legacy continues through her 41 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her love and memory in their hearts forever.
Isabel’s life was a beautiful example of compassion, faith, and selflessness. Though her absence leaves an unimaginable void, her memory will be a guiding light for all who knew her.
We will miss her deeply—but we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace, wrapped in the eternal embrace of her Savior.
