Jason Carmona was born on August 17, 1992, in Weslaco, Texas. He was the first born of Manuel and Maria J. Carmona. He attended Memorial Elementary and then went on to B. Garza Middle School where his love for music began when he entered the school band. In high school, Jason participated in Marching Band, Concert Band, and in the Jazz Band. Jason performed in the All-Region Band for five years and All-Region Jazz Band for one year. He received superior ratings at State Solo and Ensemble for four years.
After he graduated from high school, Jason attended Texas A&M University in Kingsville. There, he studied music for two years and was involved in the Marching Band, Orchestra, and the Jazz Band and then, decided to change his major to Electrical Engineering. He received his bachelor’s degree in 2016 and graduated summa cum laude.
Jason loved to cook new recipes with his girlfriend, Andrea Monasmith. He loved creating and playing music whenever he could. Jason loved to tell corny jokes, which made everyone laugh by the way he said them. Jason was a hard worker and was kind. You could easily make him happy by giving him a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.
Jason is survived by his parents, Manuel and Maria Carmona; his brother, Aaron Carmona; his adopted brother Alex Gomez; his girlfriend, Andrea Monasmith; his grandmother Otilia Carmona; his aunts, Guadalupe Hernandez, Rosaria Taimouri, Maria M. Bruton, Nora Pena, Santos Pena, Maria Elida White; his uncles, Jose R. Martinez, Andres L. Martinez, Elyass Taimouri, Pedro Pena, Jr., Alfredo Pena, Pedro Carmona; and numerous cousins.
Visitation Services for Jason will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. A Chapel Service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 10:00 am.
