Jorge H. Salinas was born on December 9, 1942, in Salineno, Texas, to Armando and Francisca Salinas. A resident of Elsa, Texas, Jorge’s life was rooted in family and shaped by the love he shared with those around him. On October 17, 2026, in Harlingen, Texas, he went to be with Our Lord.
For 65 years, Jorge shared life’s journey with his beloved wife, Esperanza. Their long marriage was a remarkable bond, built across the years and treasured in the family they raised together. Esperanza was his partner through life, and the love they shared remains a lasting part of their family’s story.
Jorge is survived by Esperanza and their two sons, Jorge H. Salinas Jr. and Rolando (Rosa de Lima). His family grew to include his grandchildren, Jorge H. Salinas III, Diana, Dr. Jorge Rolando Salinas, and Robert Antonio Salinas, and his great-grandchildren, Zak, Maks, and June Sanchez, and Jett Michael Salinas.
He is also survived by his siblings Cesar Salinas, Amparo Bazan, Francisca “Frances” Hinojosa, Armando Salinas Jr., Rene Salinas, and Ernesto Salinas, along with countless nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. His affection for his family reached across generations, and each of them carries cherished memories of the place he held in their lives.
The loss of someone so deeply loved leaves an absence that words cannot fill. Yet the love Jorge gave to his family will remain—in the memories they hold close, in the stories they share, and in the bonds that connect them across generations. His life is remembered with tenderness and gratitude, and his presence will continue to be felt in the large and loving family he leaves behind.
May Jorge rest in the peace of Our Lord. May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him, and may the love he shared remain a blessing in their hearts.
