Jose Barrera
April 6, 1955 – February 14, 2021
Jose Barrera, age 65, of Weslaco, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021. Jose was born April 6, 1955 to Guadalupe Ruiz Barrera and Agustin Barrera.
Jose is survived by his wife, Esmeralda Barrera; son Jose Barrera Jr. (Araceli Barrera); son Daniel Barrera (Myriam Barrera); and daughter Natalie Rivas (Eder Rivas); mother Guadalupe Ruiz Barrera; sister Martha Barrera, brother Agustin Barrera Jr. and brother George Barrera; granddaughter Vanessa, granddaughter Nayeli, granddaughter Breanna, grandson Jose, grandson Daniel Isaias, grandson Daniel, grandson David, grandson Julian and grandson Davian Joseph.
Jose was preceded in death by father Agustin Barrera; sister Guadalupe (Lupita) Barrera.
A visitation for Jose will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel-Highland Funeral Home, 6705 North FM 88, Weslaco, TX 78599. A chapel service will occur Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM, followed by an interment at 11:00 AM at Highland Memorial Park, Weslaco, TX 78599.

Primo Joe has been a great part of my life all I have are good memories of him growing up. He’s always helped people he was nice, funny, loving ,dedicated, devoted, always going out of way He was special he had a big heart. He’s in Heaven now we will deeply miss him but we will always remember him we love you Primo Joe.
