José nació en Oaxaca, México, el 11 de septiembre de 1936. Emigró a los Estados Unidos cuando era un adolescente y conoció a su esposa en Chicago en 1966 donde criaron a su familia hasta 1983 y luego se mudaron a Texas. Un hombre trabajador y amable, se convirtió en propietario de un negocio dedicado y se enorgulleció de su trabajo como especialista en transmisiónes hasta que se retiró. Fue un esposo y padre honrado y dedicado a su familia, un hombre que fue amado y respetado por todos aquellos que lo conocieron.
Ahora está en la presencia del Señor con quienes lo precedieron en la muerte: su hijo, Jesús González, su hermano, Enrique B. González, sus hermanas, Piedad González y Evangelina González, y sus padres, Jesús y María González.
Le sobreviven su esposa, Rafaela, su hija, Rose Mary Valdez (Rudy L. Valdez), sus 2 nietas, Gabriela L. Valdez y Michaela L. Valdez, su hermano, Tobias Gonzalez (Estefania) y su hermana, Zocorro González (el difunto Rafael). También le sobreviven varios sobrinas, sobrinos, y primo(a)s que lo amaron mucho desde Oaxaca, México D.F., California, Arizona y Chicago.
José será siempre recordado por unir a todos los miembros de su familia, siempre mostrando amabilidad, risas, perseverancia, generosidad y fe.
Una Velacion para Jose se realizará el domingo, 17 de mayo de 2020 desde las 3:00 p. m. hasta las 7:00 p. m.. con un Rosario a las 5:00 p.m. en la Funeraria Del Angel Highland Funeral Home ubicada en 6705 N FM 88 en Weslaco, Texas. Un Sepelio se llevará a cabo el lunes, 18 de mayo de 2020 a las 10:00 a. m. en el Cemeterio de Highland Memorial Park en Weslaco, Texas.

Jose Gonzalez, of Weslaco, passed away peacefully in his home after a long illness on May 15, 2020. Jose was born in Oaxaca, Mexico on September 11, 1936. He immigrated to the U.S. as a young teenager and met his wife in Chicago in 1966 where they raised their family until 1983 then relocated to Texas. A hard-working and kind man, he became a dedicated business owner and took great pride in his work as a transmission specialist until he retired. He was a devoted husband and father who was beloved by all who knew him.
He is now in the presence of the Lord with those who preceded him in death: his son, Jesus Gonzalez, his brother, Enrique B. Gonzalez, his sisters, Piedad Gonzalez and Evangelina Gonzalez, and his parents, Jesus and Maria Gonzalez.
He is survived by his wife, Rafaela, his daughter, Rose Mary Valdez (Rudy L. Valdez), his 2 granddaughters, Gabriela L. Valdez and Michaela L. Valdez, his brother, Tobias Gonzalez (Estefania), and his sister, Zocorro Gonzalez (the late Rafael). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly from Oaxaca, Mexico D.F., California, Arizona, and Chicago.
Jose will forever be remembered for uniting all his family members always showing kindness, laughter, perseverance, generosity, and faith.
