Jose Latigo Vela, born on July 21, 1948, in Mercedes, Texas, passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 77. He was a resident of Weslaco, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Irene Latigo. His family includes children: Jose (Gloria) Latigo, Sylvia (Armando) Gonzalez, Juan (Clarissa) Latigo, Julio (Patricia) Latigo, and Debra (Alfredo) Perez. He is also survived by step-children: Cassandra Flores and Rudy Flores. His siblings are Benito (Rosa) Latigo, Juan (Mary) Latigo, Mary Latigo, Emma (Joe) Martinez, Alma Cazares, and Juanita Latigo.

Jose Latigo Vela was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Benita Latigo, his sister, Rosalinda Anderson, and his brother, Gerardo Latigo.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Highland, located at 6705 North Fm 88, Weslaco, Texas, 78596, on January 26, 2026, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
