Juan "Johnny" Jose Martinez

Juan Jose Martinez, 61, peacefully left this world to be with the Lord on August 15, 2026. He was born on September 27, 1964, in Hollis, Oklahoma, and throughout his life, he touched those around him with his unique personality, many talents, and genuine love for the things and people who brought him joy.

Johnny was a man of many passions and accomplishments. He attended Texas A&I University, where he proudly became a member of the Javelina Marching Band. His love for music remained an important part of his life, and he spent many years as a road manager for Grupo Estrella, a role that allowed him to combine his love of music with his adventurous spirit and dedication to those around him.

A man of many interests, Johnny was a certified pawnbroker, a brown belt in Karate, and proudly earned the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout. He possessed a curious and thoughtful mind and was an avid reader who also enjoyed writing. He could often be found immersed in a good book, putting his thoughts into words, or simply enjoying the quiet moments of life. His love for animals was another special part of who he was, and he cherished the time he spent with his beloved pets, who brought him companionship and happiness.

Johnny will be remembered for the many layers that made him who he was—a man who loved music, learning, adventure, and the simple joys of life. He leaves behind memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved mother, Francis Martinez; his siblings, Lena (Rodrigo) Martinez, AnaBelia “Bea” (Kenny Ray) Martinez, and Miguel Angel Martinez; and his cherished nephews and nieces, Zack, Mila, Joey, Chris, Alex and Rowin. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched throughout his journey.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Angel Martinez; his sister, Marta Martinez; his niece, Madelynn; and a precious baby niece who was taken from the family too soon.

Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the love he gave, the stories he shared, the music he enjoyed, and the memories he created will remain. He is now at peace and reunited with those who went before him, while those who remain will carry his memory forward with love.

May he rest in the loving arms of the Lord, surrounded by eternal peace, and may his memory forever be a blessing to all who knew him.
