February 6, 1981 – May 19, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Laura Quintanilla, 44, of Weslaco, who went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 19, 2025. Born on February 6, 1981, in McAllen, Laura was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her.
Laura was a devoted mother, proud grandmother, cherished sister, and loyal friend. She leaves behind her greatest joys: her children, Aliyah Anahi Aguilar and Mario Diego Aguilar, and her precious grandson, Jonathan A. Garza Jr., who were the center of her world and the source of her strength. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Aldo Quintanilla, Pedro Quintanilla, Eulalia Villarreal, and Lydia Alvarez, as well as 17 nieces and nephews who adored her beyond words.
She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved parents, Maria de Jesus Quintanilla and Pedro Gutierrez Quintanilla, and her brother, Elias Quintanilla, whose memories she carried closely in her heart.
Laura’s passion for helping others led her to a life of service and inspiration. For 12 years, she poured her heart into teaching at Weslaco East High School, shaping young minds and leaving an indelible mark on generations of students. Later, she fulfilled her dream of building something of her own—founding Direct Financial Center, where she led with purpose, compassion, and courage. Her devoted team of business agents became like family, drawn to her unwavering belief in hard work and kindness.
Beyond her work, Laura found joy in life’s beautiful moments—traveling to new places, singing along at concerts, and finding peace in the companionship of her beloved dogs. But her happiest times were always spent with family, laughing, sharing stories, and creating memories that will live on forever.
Laura’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and grace. She loved fiercely, gave selflessly, and lived with a heart full of gratitude and joy. Though her time with us feels far too short, her legacy will live on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
We will carry her memory in our hearts forever.
