Manuel Araujo

Manuel Araujo, age 91, left to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Mid Valley Nursing & Rehab Center in Mercedes. Manuel was born on October 18, 1932 to Leonardo Araujo & Carlota Flores in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Maria Luisa Araujo and children: Juana Velasquez, Maria Aberman, Obeth Araujo, Rafaela Sotelo, Daniel Araujo & Alfredo Martinez. He will also be greatly missed by 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was very hardworking and enjoyed doing mechanic work. His favorite hobbies were fishing, reading and tending to his yard. He was an avid Texas Rangers fan and was delighted to see them win the World Series just a couple of days before being called home to heaven. Manuel had several pets but his best friend was his puppy Chomis. He had a great sense of humor and loved eating pan dulce, menudo and Wing Stop. Manuel will be forever remembered as a great person, friend, husband and dad.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco with an interment following at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco.

Manuel Araujo, de 91 anos, entró en su eterno descanso el sábado, 4 de noviembre, 2023 en Mid Valley Nursing & Rehab en Mercedes. Manuel fue nacido el 18 de octubre, 1932 a sus padres Leonardo Araujo & Carlota Flores en Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico. Sera extranado profundamente por su amada esposa, Maria Luisa Araujo y sus hijos: Juana Velasquez, Maria Aberman, Obeth Araujo, Rafaela Sotelo, Daniel Araujo & Alfredo Martinez. Tambien vivira en la memoria de sus 20 nietos y 12 bisnietos. Manuel era un hombre muy trabajador y le gustaba la mecánica. Sus pasatiempos favoritos era la pesca, leer, y cuidar de su jardín. Unos dias justo antes de ser llamado al regazo de Dios, pudo disfrutar del triunfo de su equipo favorito, los Texas Rangers al ganar el World Series. Aunque tenía varias mascotas su mejor amigo era su perrito, Chomis. Manuel tenía muy buen sentido del humor, le gustaba comer pan de dulce, menudo y Wing Stop. Será por siempre recordado como una gran persona, amigo, esposo y papa.

Familia recibira amigos el miercoles, 8 de noviembre, 2023 de 3:00 PM a 11:00 PM con un rosario recitado a las 6:00 PM en Funeraria del Angel Highland en Weslaco. Misa Funebre sera celebrada a las 10:00 AM, el jueves, 9 de noviembre, 2023 en St Joan of Arc Catholic Church en Weslaco seguido por el sepelio en Highland Memorial Park en Weslaco.
